Long-Form
A monthly blog I write for the non-profit nOURish BRIDGEPORT—each topic relates to their mission of mitigating food insecurity in the city of Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Among The Granola Crunchers
A personal essay on the culture of Boulder, Colorado—exploring how historical and sociological factors came together to produce the city that today bears the slogan, “Boulder, the place to live.”
Social Strategy
Our volunteers always carry the weight of the importance of their work.
It takes more than simply clearing a few hours of your day to come to the nOURish CENTER to stock shelves and help operate our shoppers choice pantry. It takes compassion, insight, and a consciousness about what our neighbors are facing out there in the world which, to those who struggle with food insecurity, is becoming increasingly daunting.
That is why October is #HungerActionMonth here at nOURish BRIDGEPORT.
Every act of kindness matters, and every dollar matters twice as much this month.
When you give to nOURish BRIDGEPORT during Hunger Action Month, your donation will be matched up to $10,000; helping us ensure our neighbors in need have food as it becomes more scarce in the colder months and federal funding cuts are rampant.
Hit the link in our bio to help support this vital initiative.

Volunteerism is not just giving time.
It is weaving yourself into the fabric of your community.
It is the quiet act of showing up...day after day.
It is both a recognition of a problem and the meeting of it with a living, breathing, real-time solution.
When our neighbors enter the pantry, they don't just see people pushing shopping carts or stocking shelves.
They see a hopeful sun on the horizon.
They see a flower that's finally come into full bloom from the roots of their troubled gardens.
They see human beings enacting change.
